To get a fire pit or not, the facts you should know!

First, what is better than hanging out on your back patio on summer evenings with your friends or family with a cold drink in hand, sitting around your own gas fire pit, and making memories? I must say not much can beat those nights!

Now here is the question: What must you do to make this dream night happen?

Can I Run A Gas Line To A Fire Pit?

To answer, yes, this is possible! Please be aware that you should always have a professional install your natural gas or propane lines, especially since they must be connected to your house gas pipeline. Remember, only a certified professional can properly size your gas lines to ensure the correct BTUs are delivered and installed correctly!

Now here is the question, is it worth the cost to make this dream night happen?

Believe it or not, it might be if you have the proper budget! Typically they run about $20 per foot, or they can run about $200-$700 depending on the company and location, as well as how long of a pipe you will need for it to reach the main gas line in your house.

The actual installation of the lines can cost between $99-$600.

I bet you are now wondering if there may be a cheaper option. well, yes and no. The only other option for a firepit is out of your yard, which will run you between $300 and $1,400. (Please note that these prices are ONLY estimations and are not the say-all end-all for prices. They are very much on a wide price basis

this is to give you an idea of a possible ballpark!)

Natural Gas vs. Propane fire pits:

So now that assuming you get a fire pit, you must choose if you want natural gas or propane.

Remember that propane ones are more mobile but have tanks that will have to be continually refilled/replaced, which may cost you more in the long run, plus having to dispose of the empty propane tanks properly.

As I stated earlier, With natural gas lines, connect up to your gas line that is running threw out your house so you will save some gas in your car and maybe keep some money in your wallet by not having to purchase propane tanks continuously.

All in all, I think we can all agree however you decide to do it, it will be well worth it in the end!

Just keep in mind the costs of everything and what fits your and your family’s lifestyle best!
